Palo santo is a mystical tree from the tropical forests of Peru and native to South America. This wood is protected in South America and is only gathered from already fallen trees. The name translates into Holy Wood and Palo Santo is burned as an incense and its smoke is used for its cleansing and healing properties – removing negative energies. Similar to sage with a sweet smoky scent, also an effective insect repellent when burned outside.
