Castor Oil

When applied externally to the body, castor oil has powerful healing and health promoting properties. The oil is warming to the tissues, thus aiding muscle stiffness and pain. Castor oil penetrates through the skin and muscles, affecting the underlying tissues and encourages the breakdown of inflammatory material through enhancing both blood circulation and lymphatic flow. Castor oil increases the activity and movement of lymphatic fluid. Lymph is an inner excretory mechanism in our bodies, assisting cell detoxification and the excretion of waste material out of our bodies.

Castor oil packs are beneficial for abdominal swellings, pelvic congestion (digestive, reproductive and muscular), constipation as well as joint stiffness and inflammations.

Caution: It is not recommended for castor oil to be taken internally as it acts as a powerful laxative.
